Jail and Bail

September 27, 2017

Do you have a co-worker who is always running late, never refills the coffee pot, hums a little too loudly or always leaves dirty dishes in the kitchen sink? Well now’s your chance to issue a warrant and make them a Jailbird!

On Wednesday, September 27th, willing participants will be mock arrested at a pre-arranged location by Niagara Regional Police Interim Chief, Bryan MacCulloch, Inspector Marco Giannico, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dale Davis, and a group of volunteers as they are whisked away to the on-site jail located at Market Square in downtown St. Catharines.

Last year, we beat our goal of $10,000 and raised a record of $23,000!

The total bail is set at $10,000 and all monies raised will go towards our Game On! and Go Girls! group mentoring programs! We need YOU to throw the book at your worst-offending colleague, friend or family member and nominate them to be a jailbird!

How do I get someone arrested?

Think of someone that deserves to be arrested. It could be a friend, family member or co-worker. Common offences include: close talkers, chewing with mouth open, leaving the toilet seat up and eating the last donut.

Step 2: REPORT

Call the Jail & Bail hotline at 905-646-3230, use the nomination form or email Marcie Clarkson to report the crime!

Step 3: LAUGH

A lot. Twiddle your fingers and smile like Mr. Burns. Excellent. You can either let them know they are being arrested ahead of time, or try your best to keep it secret. Either way, they’re going to need to make bail to get out.

Should you wish to turn yourself in and be arrested please call Marcie Clarkson at 905-646-3230 ext 32 or email Marcie Clarkson

I’ve been arrested – how do I get out of jail!

You need to raise a minimum of $300 in bail money in order to be released from jail!

1. Create your individual Jail & Bail fundraising page and start getting pledges ahead of time!

2. On the day of, while in jail, our hotline will be open to take pledges from your friends, family, and colleagues over the phone to get you out of jail (PRO TIP: tell them to send you their credit card number (via text, email or give them a call). The hotline number is 905-646-3230. You can also direct your friends, family and co-workers to your personal fundraising page where they can donate online towards your bail.
